When did your baby? [c section] [ultrasound]
I am 32 weeks and just got back from the doctors. My baby has not turned, he is completely breech, feet down. The doctor said that the next meeting as he is still breech she will schedule an ultrasound to check his exact position. She says that we will discuss c-section, but usually the baby the chance to go to 37 weeks. If he has not turned, in her experience, c-section is the safest option for delivery. Im scared and nercous this. I wanted a natural birth, although I do not exclude the possibility that things can get in the way. I know that keeping my options open and do not expect supply to a certain way to go is the best thing to do. I am afraid that after a c-section, many times more C-sections with other deliveries will follow. My doctor has a good rep for V-BAC, so thats good. I was just hoping to go through the natural process.
Any advice is great. I want to now what the likelihood of the baby will be run later. As there is a way to try to help the baby turn? I know its far-fetched, but if not dangerous, I will try to help him out.
One thing, someone has delivered a breech baby vaginally and if so, what were your experiences?
Reply:My step father was a breech baby.. Granted, I know that was a long time ago and not todays standards for birth, but it was an easy one my nana says.. Also, a friend of mine delivered breech even after a nurse was making snobby comments about
"it'll go wrong, you're not smart to do it that way" and other rude things.. Although just liek guy said, the baby does flip around a little in there so hopefully yours will turn.
On the other hand, even though I am not very far along at all, I have reason to need a cesarean, and after all the research i have done, and different birth stories I have gotten, I feel that is the best way to go.. for me..
I in no way feel like it is a "failure" because it's not the natural way.. I beleive if you bring a healthy baby into the world the way that is safest for you and baby then there is no way you are a failure. In my opinion, if you opt for a vaginal delivery when you know there will be a large danger to the baby, then that is a failure.. I've gotten sick of hearing people tell me that "Dont you feel like you have failed because you will not be having a baby naturally?"
Reply:i remember that happened to me when i went to the doc and she told me that my daughter was breech, i think it was at about 36 weeks to. we talked about c-section which for some reason really scared me. later that week i was laying in bed and i could feel her turning around. it hurt and was very uncomfortable and really weird all at the same time. we did an ultrasound a couple of weeks later and she was head down, thank goodness i thought.
goodluck,
robin
