When did you first get stretch marks? [hello ladies] [stretch marks]
Hi Ladies,
Im just wondering for those of you who got stretch marks . When they start showing? I am now 28 weeks and have a lot of itching, but no stretch marks on my belly. There are some beautiful specimens at the beginning of my legs though. I also noticed that some on the inside of my knees! Everywhere, but my belly!
Reply:While I was prego I had one small one above my belly button. This one showed up about 3 weeks before I delivered. I checked daily and could see nothing. Well once I got home (about 4 days later) I looked down and saw I had a few. They went from belly button to pubic bone. In a strait line, how strange is that! There are also a few small ones to the sides. The strange thing is you couldn't see them until after she was born.
Reply:I've heard that drinking a lot of water is supposed to help because well lubricated skin is less likely to stretch. I started getting them at about 22 weeks or so but they are just extensions of the ones on my hips that I got in puberty.
Reply:I was cursed with stretch marks at about two months along. They cover my whole stomach and are dark red and purple. I look like the palmer's coccoa butter commercial(sp). Nothing I have tried to lessen them works. I've tried regular lotions, coccoa butter and vitamin e. Hope you have better luck than me.
Reply:I started getting stretch marks around week 26. they literally came overnight. Since then, they've really been growing. i used cocoa butter since month 2, but if you're predisposed (possibly your mom had them) you can't do a thing to stop them.
BATTLE SCARS!
Oh, and DON'T ITCH THEM! That will make them worse…those fade less from what I hear.
Reply:I literally got my stretch marks on my belly the very last 2 weeks of my pregnancy. Thankfully, most of them are below my bellybutton, so I can still wear a 2 piece swimsuit, just not a string bikini! lol. My friend has 2 daughters and she told me with her second, she got stretchmarks all the way up to her rib cage, and she was like me with her first: she had only gotten them on her lower belly. I got lucky, with my 2nd daughter, I didnt get ANY! grrr lol if only my first had been as small!!!!I used to hate them and feel gross, but you know what? If you get them , you are still a beautiful mother and almost everyone has them somewhere. My husband doesnt care at all. I try to stay in shape, because that makes me feel better and look better. But stretch marks mean that Im a mommy, and Im proud of that!
Reply:My memory may not be right here, but I think I started getting one at around 15 wks, when my belly started popping out a bit. I'm not even sure if it's a stretch mark, but it's about an inch below where my bra strap is – right across my "lower chest," I guess… I thought at first it was the bra strap, but it's there all the time, even in the mornings. Strange…
