TMI I know, but read [mucus plug] [bath tub]
I am 34 weeks pregnant and I was out of the bath, and thought I would just look at my vagina in the mirror, because the last time I studied at the Dr. he said I had enlarged blood vessels on the lips of my vagina . Well, I was checking it out and I saw something in my vagina. I do not know if it was my mucus plug, it kinda looked like a flap. Ive never been out of the mirror prior to pregnancy, so I do not know what Im looking at and if it has changed. I know this is way to graphic, but I wanted to know if anyone has this happen. PLEASE HELP

Reply:I think you're describing your hymen. Perfectly normal to be able to see it just on the inside of the vagina. I asked my doctor once before about the "flaps" and that's what he told me.

Reply:Although I can't exactly imagine what you're describing, the mucous plug looks like a clear or yellowish mucous, with or without a trace of blood surrounding it, I don't believe it's possible to see it all the way at your cervix from a mirror if it's still attached, and if it's coming off, it would have discharged itself from your vagina completely by now. The only "flap" I can think of would be a hymen, but since you're pregnant, I highly doubt it's that. Whatever it is, I'm sure it's normal, but you may want to bring it up to your doctor at your next appointment.
