Sperm cell “life” [half days] [unprotected sex]
I had unprotected sex with my b / f two and a half days ago and I just had something that seemed to have sperm come from me when I went to the bathroom. Im 99% sure it was semen, because it stank of semen and did not have the texture of my own personal fluids. I am too confused as to how I could still such a large amount of sperm in me about two days later, after urination atleast 10 times in-between. I have read reports online that say sperm can live in your body to a week in some cases, it does inside you, or does it refer to my case, even where it can drip out of your few days later?
I am afraid because it was such a long time later, may mean that there is a better possibility that I may be pregnant — that was stuck there for attaching itself to the egg? I know these are probably stupid questions, but please help!

Reply:of course there is a chance you could be pregnant it's probably not very likely. sperm loses it's ability to "swim" effectively very quickly even if it is still "alive". i wouldn't get bent out of shape just yet. thinking on it too much can cause false symptoms of pregnancy. wait to see if you have your cycle and/or take a home test to ease your mind.

Reply:Then there is a chance you could be pregnant. You will have to wait until around the time your period is due to take a pregnancy test. Your symptoms do sound like pregnancy, however when you are worried about it or hopeful you can experience symptoms even if you are not pregnant. This happened to me plenty of times when we were trying to get pregnant.

Reply:Most of the extra seminal fluid drips out shortly after sex, so it most likely was your own fluids. They are very similiar in appearance. Sperm can however live inside of your for 5 days, but usually more like 2-3. Do you know when you are due to ovulate?

Reply:I don't know, it could really be anything, possibly seminal fluid (semen has sperm in it, but it is mostly the fluid that you see). If you are using birth control I wouldn't think there was anything extra to be alarmed about.
