Question about BBT charting ovulation u0026 [ewcm] [bbt]
I am now on CD13. On my cycle days 1-11 BBt were between 97.2 and 97.3 to 97.0 CD12 was baptized and now on CD13 was 97.4, which is still not very high but is higher than before, could I ovulated? I had all the signs-pain in my stomach and some (not much) of EWCM and my CP was high, I just can not help but think that it is too early to ovulate. My cycles are usually 32-40 days. Any advice?
Reply:Mandy,
I think 0603D was referring to an OPK that has an electric monitor. It's different than the sticks that look like hpt sticks. This is a little computer that tells you every morning if you need to pee on a stick. Then you insert the stick into the monitor and it tells you how fertile you are that day. No reading lines on a stick, just a little computer screen. The great thing about the monitor that makes it better than BBT is that it tells you when you are about to ovulate. When you are measuring your BBT, you will see it spike at some point during your cycle, but you have to remember that it spikes AFTER you have ovulated. So if you didn't have intercourse the day or two before it spikes, your chances of conceiving are lower. You will see it going up and after several months you will start to recognize when it is about to spike, but the monitor is awesome. I have one too. The other thing to remember, is that several factors can affect your body temperature during the night and it can affect the accuracy of your BBT readings. I agree that the testing sticks are a pain, especially when you don't have regular cycles because you just really can't ever tell for sure when to use them and results can be obscure. Good luck!
Reply:guy- Hello there. Thanks for the advice and info. I believe that I have posted to you on the TTC buddies and friends 209 board also- I just joined you guys. I am now on CD14 and my temp this am was 97.2 so I guess that I have not ovulated yet. Hopefully soon. I have tried OPK before but to tell you the truth I didn't like them that much, probable because I had a hard time reading the results. I could never tell if the lines were equal in color or if one was lighter than the other one and I got very frustrated with them so I have them up 2 months ago. And last month I TTC without charting anything or paying much attention to things and then I ended up being 3 weeks late for AF- thought for sure that I was preggo and then 2 days after Christmas AF showed up. That was the only messed up cycle that I've had the whole time that we have been TTC (8 months now). DH thinks that I was just over stressed because of the holidays. So that brings me to now, I just started this month tracking my temps, and so far everything looks good. I am just trying to make sure that I am ovulating and trying to get a better understanding of my cycle. DH and I DB about every other day (sometimes more but not always, regardless of any signs or anything (we are still newlyweds, only been married for 8 months lol ). Sorry for giving TMI. lol.
I am hoping to O soon and see that spike in my temp- atleast then I will know that everything is ok. If we are not preggo this month the doctor already gave DH a lab slip to have a SA (sperm analysis) done. I already have 2 children from a previous relationship so they want to check him out first I guess because of the fact that he does not have any biological children yet. So I guess we'll see what happens with that.
What CD are you on? Good luck to you- I hope that this is your month!!!!!!!

Reply:Hi guy-
My pre-O temps are like yours (97.0-97.4). I also have 30-36 day cycles so ovulation is a guess to me. I purchased the Clearplan monitor and it is awesome. I was pregnant the 1st month I used it but I miscarried. It has now been 5 months and I have used it everymonth and it has been right on the money. If you can afford it it is an awesome tool. I can't explain why I'm not preggo though. The monitor tells me 24-36 hours before I ovulate. We BD and my temp always spikes to 97.8-98.0 one or two days after. If you are only BBT you will probably miss the correct day.
As far as BD every day, if your DH sperm count is normal it shouldn't be a problem. If it is on the low side you would want to BD every other day.
I'm hoping we nailed it this month. I could not have better timing BD, sometimes I guess it just takes a few months or so. I hope this information is useful.
Reply:Thank you for your fast response. And I will take your advice and do the deed as much as possible (lol). I have tried the OPK in the past and to tell you the truth I did not have much luck with them. I could never tell if the lines were the same color or if it was my imagination so I gave up on them. I know what you mean about it consuming you- I feel the same way. I feel like that is all I think about now. It was not that way the first 6 months of trying but then after that (DH and I have been trying for 8 months) it was like it became a mission or something. How long have you been TTC? Thanks again.
Reply:I guess I would say to do the deed as often as you can…lol You might have ovulated or are ovulating right now or in the next day. Have you ever bought an OPK?
I have quit charting my temps..I felt it put too much pressure on me and I was consumed by it. I also coulod not tell my CP ever and was extrememly confused by it. I figure I need less stress and to be less consumed with TTC.
Sorry I couldn't help you much!
