Positive test but very scared! [chlomid] [mid cycle]

My husband and I are TTC for two years. All tests show no problem with one of us. We have 3 months not work.

My husband and I separated for six months because of the industry. I spend 1 week a month with him. Our last visit was in the middle of my cycle. I came home two weeks later my period is two weeks later usual.

It am, I am now halfway through the cycle is repeated. Im not with my husband since my last period. For the last five days, Ive had continuous cramping. Usually dull but sometimes severe. I have an appointment tomorrow for my Midwifery.

In the mean time, just on a whim I took a PG test tonight. It came out positive. Not a little positive, very positive. I took another two hours later, again positive.

I am very worried about my cramps. Im afraid I have ectopic pregnancy. Does anyone have any info? How can I be pregnant if I got my period two weeks ago? This kind of cramps in early pregnancy normal? I have no other symptoms besides the cramping. Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks guys!

Reply:I have a very dear friend who had a period for 4 months and was 4 months pregnant. It is very possible but not heard of much but possible. She had a normal baby boy and he is 19 and doing fine.

Reply:Hey you guys!!!
Thanks for all the advice and good wishes. I am seeing my doc in 2 hours so I'll let you know what happens. She sent me this morning for a blood pregnancy test and a progesterone test.
I am really hoping she can do an u/s today.
What is driving me the most crazy about this whole thing is that I know that I got my Period 2 weeks ago. It wasn't just spotting. I don't get it, I have never heard of anyone getting their normal period while pregnant. Very strange, very scary.
Keep you posted,
LISI

Reply:Just an update, went this morning for a blood pregnancy test and progesterone. I will see my doctor in about 2 hours and she should have the results. Still having cramping. Getting more and more worried that it could be an ectopic. I am hoping she will be able to see more with an ultrasound. I'll keep you posted.

Reply:It's true that cramping is a symptom of ectopic, but so is pretty heavy bleeding. Cramping can also be normal. Sounds like you've probably been to the doc by now so we should know soon. Hope you find that everything's PERFECT!

Reply:i had the same symptoms as you, and of course i freaked out and went to the ER. they said my hormone levels showed that i was PG but they couldnt see anything on the u/s. way too early i guess. i found out all that was wrong was a UTI which they gave me an antibiotic and in 3 days the cramp in my side went away.

a few weeks later i freaked out again and went back to the ER. this time they did see the pregnancy and said i had another or the same UTI. they gave me a stronger antibiotic and that was that.

i never realized a UTI could cause mild to sharp cramp like pains, and/or light bleeding, chills/hot flashes, but they can.

your symptoms could mean so many different things, but most will not harm you or your baby.
have a relaxing day and good luck tomorrow. :round:

Reply:I've had 3 ectopics and I will say from my experience on all 3 the bleeding was slight with occasional small clots and it never stopped until after the pregnancy was removed. I just continued to bleed. Unfortunately, they cannot tell right away unless you are farther along than you think and they see something in the tube. Or sometimes you may have swelling in the tube that they can see or even feel. The only other way to determine an ectopic is by the doctor checking HCG levels. This doesn't sound like a "typical" ectopic. Good luck at your appointment and keep us posted. I'm sure everything will be fine. Take care and God Bless!!!

Reply:Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!! You should be happy! Why are you scared. I love heraing people come out of this with positive results. I hope everything works well for you! :)

Reply:Thanks for all your help u guys. i'll let you know what my doc says later today. Woke up this morning to another ++++++++++Test. I'm so nervous

Reply:I had some pretty nasty cramping before I found out I was pg….Try not to worry to much and be sure to let us know what the dr. says…Sending prayers that everything is okay with the little one…

Take Care,

Reply:I think they can tell right away with an ultrasound. Your pains could be gas too? Have you gone today? You know you best…if it gets worse, you'll know what to do. Some dr's have an ultrasound in their office and they can check tomorrow, they can see where the little guy is. I had a period when I was one month pg, and it is normal for some people. I hope you have a happy and healthy nine months!! Let me know how it goes tomorrow!

Reply:thanks Chrissy. I think perhaps severe was a strong word. I am not doubled over in pain. Most of the time it feels like regular menstrual cramps but occasionally it gets stronger. Also, I have had no bleeding for two weeks (since what I thought was my period). It is 10 PM here now and my cramps are very mild, I am seeing my doc tomorrow morning so I think that I will try to relax instead of going to the ER. I want so badly to be pregnant and perhaps these feelings are normal and I am being paranoid. I should find out more tomorrow.
By the way, do you know how early they can diagnos an ectopic pregnancy????
Thanks for your advice,
Lisi

Reply:Just to add…mild cramping (periodlike) Is a sign of early pregnancy…severe cramping is not.

Reply:I am such a worrywort but If I were you I'd get my but to the er. They can do a quick u/s to check for an eptopic and then you know for sure. One of the signs of an eptopic is bleeding (like your period). Usually the cramping is the first sign. I think your symptoms: sometimes severe cramping, positive pg test, bleeding….all warrant a trip to the er. if you have a thermomitor, check your temp to see if you have a fever. I don't mean to freak you out, but I don't want you to ignore something that could be serious.
