Morning sickness and your job [hello ladies] [morning sickness]
Hi ladies, Im just curious if any of you or I do. Im a pre-school teacher (I work at a Catholic pre-school), and have suffered from morning sickness pretty constant the past two days. I went to work today and was sick off and on during the day, a few times I had to leave class to go to the ladies room and wait because I thought I went to my lunch (and breakfast) losses. Im not really about giving, its just the nausea. I even got sick at the smell of one of the children lunch (it was a sandwich with cheese and sausage!) And: rolleyes:. Im getting pretty sick of nibbling on crackers and sip ginger ale now. There are also one of naueous you get from just smell? That happened to me! Im just wondering what you other ladies do when youre at work and not feeling well, any tips?
Reply:To the previous poster: I threw up today when I kissed my hubby as well he got really upset! But thanks to your post he actually believes that it was just smell sinsitivity!! Thanks!!!
haha glad to be of assistance!!
Reply:I work at a daycare and I can totally relate to what you are saying! When the kids had lunch today I had to leave because they prepare it not to far from my classroom and I could smell it! It was completley awful! The other teacher and I in my room are both pregers and we have two year olds. We had to have someone else come in a change our kids today because the BM's were just too much for our tummies to handle! I dont know why but spearment mints and gum seem to help settle my stomache. Hope it helps!!

Reply:I absolutely get nauseas over the smell of food. And like another poster even thinking about various foods and the way they smell make me feel sick. What's worse, right now, I currently get nauseas when kissing my husband. I think my nose is so sensitive it's picking up on the smells in his mouth ten times more. Even if he has just brushed his teeth! Poor fella.
I find that eating my safe foods works best. Right now, for me, it's sour foods. If I eat them constantly throughout the day, I am less likely to get AS nauseas. If I find myself getting nauseas I'll eat one of them to drive it away. It has worked for the past week or so.
Reply:I have nausea just thinking about food sometimes so you can imagine smelling things too!!! I am hoping that it gets better!!!!

Reply:I feel for you, I had awful m/s from 7 to 14 weeks. I am now 17 weeks, and still from time to time deal with it. But it has gotten a lot better. And I'm sure your's will ease up in time as well. But here's something that worked for me. I sucked on hard candy. I always had peppermint ones to suck on, cause that's supposed to settle your stomach. And it has something to do with the saliva you produce while sucking on it is supposed to be good. But if you don't like peppermint, try just some sort of mint flavor. Other than that, I really just had to wait it out. It was so hard, but thankfully it did let up. So good luck and hang in there!!! And yes, smells bothered me sooooo much. And at times it still does.
