Reply:I feel for you – while I was preg with my daughter last year i had severe morning sickness for all 36 weeks i carried her – i threw up until the morning I delivered. I was hospitalized several times for dehydration. my doctor put me on zofran (it is used for chemo patients) and also reglan pump it did not cure me but it made things bareable – ask your doc what he/she thinks
Reply:I feel for you! I'm in my 11th week and most of my morning sickness has finally subsided. I find that making sure that I don't get too hungry and not overeating helps. For this pregnancy and the last, I chewed on Spearmint gum and it really seemed to help the most. Thank God for Spearmint gum! Best wishes to you!
Reply:Try not to let yourself get hungry. It's the empty stomach that does it to me. Snacking all day is also a good way to make sure you get the bizzillion servings of everything that you're supposed to be getting too.
Ginger ales do help too — get it in the health food section though, most ginger ales in the regular soda section don't really have enough ginger to do anything. I like cystallized ginger and ginger tea (Yogi makes a good one) as well.
Reply:I feel for you! I've had horrid sickness for nearly a month now. In fact I don't even call it "morning sickness" because it lasts 24/7. Whatever happens try not to let yourself become dehydrated. I just spent 3 days in the hospital this past week hooked up to an IV because of dehydration and low blood pressure. Not fun! :nono: I did my best to keep drinking ginger ale and water but the sickness got out of hand.
For me I have found that eating bananas helps. I'm going through loads of them. Like somebody said earlier, just do whatever works best for you. Hopefully the sickness will ease up soon.
Take care,
Nicole
Reply:I am almost 7 weeks and have also been getting morning sickness on and off the past week or so… I have been eating crackers, drinking ginger ale… which helps for awhile…I have also just started sucking on sour candies, which is a temperary relief, but anything is nice… I have also been trying to eat something every hour or two, this has been helping me for the most part… I usually try and eat something small, crackers, pretzels, fruit or veggies (when it isn't a horrible day)… I haven't taken any medication (besides my prenatel vitamins) since I have been pregnant, so I am not sure what is ok to take, but you can always call your doctor about that… All I keep thinking is hopefully in a few more weeks it will go away… good luck:)
Reply:Having things to suck on when you feel gaggy or sick to your stomach can help also. I have a bowl full of lifesavers and jolly ranchers next the bed. Sour things have seemed to help me as well. Also, I would eat what I could. Meaning if all that I wanted was a turkey sub, then that is what I would eat and I wouldn't force myself to eat anything else. I noticed that while I am eating the nausea subsides briefly. You might also want to try ice cream which can be very soothing to the stomach and less harsh when it comes back up.
Reply:I just went through that two days ago. Thankfully its much better. Im still queasy and I still have nausea but the throwing up everything stopped. I tried Ginger Ale, peppermints and crackers. They seemed to help me. Good Luck!!
Reply:I know TUms is ok. Not sure on rolaids though.
I think there's generally a 'miracle' cure out there for everyone, only problem being that….it's different for EVERYONE…..(Sucks huh?)
I had horrible M/S from 8-18w and the only thing that really seemed to help was a hot shower…..but I had to lay down and let the water hit my stomach….baths didn't work oddly enough.
Needless to say I took ALOT of showers those 10 weeks, thankfully we don't have to pay for water. LOL
Also you said your throwing up ALOT….if you can't keep ANYTHING down (Liquids too) Get to your doctor before you can get dehydrated! ![]()
Reply:Poor girl I know what you are going through. I am 16 weeks & still throw up every other day or so. When I was 6 weeks I posted the exact same thing. Morning noon & night was right. It was an all day thing. I sure hope it gets better for you. Not sure about the roliads but I did take Tums. I kept crackers beside my bed & ate one before I got out of bed. Nothing really helped though. As time went by it did taper off. It isn't so bad now. It started to ease up from every day to every other day as soon as I went into my 2nd trimester. I feel for you.
Good Luck!
Chris
