Can your cervix and dedialate defface? [70 effaced] [mucus plug]
Hi. Yesterday at my appointment 40 weeks I saw my doctor and she found me 70% effaced and 1 cm dialated. I lost my mucus plug and small amounts of bleeding. (My doctor thought it was normal.) I started with contractions that morning around 11 hours to eat, she said lightly. Example, crackers, fruit, yogurt and juice! I AM starve! And there is no sign of a baby on the road. The contractions stopped! After 4-5 hours yesterday morning and never returned. My blood is stopped.
Now, just below my belly button I feel pain on my skin and it feels to me a little swollen. Why was i dont know.
I wondering if its possible that after your dialated when you can go back and completely closed? Or is it just progress from there?
Also any advice that can help progress my labor? I am currently one day late and I can not wait any longer.

Reply:Unfortunately it can happen.
While I was at the hospital I was checked at one point and told I was 7cm….then later told I was only 5cm….while its more common to progress, you can digress too….good luck! :wave:Reply:I know this it is not stypical for your cervix to lengthen (de-efface)if you are put on bedrest.
The dilitation I don't know about.
Remember though that some people who examine you may feel things differently. For examply, a person with larger hands may think you are not quite as dilated as someone with smaller hands. I know that there is a method to determining it, I don't know what it is.
Just remember that if someone tells you that you are 6cm, and then another says you are 5cm, it could just be their method of examination.
